Fragrant violet aromas with blue fruit. Quite ripe fruit with ripe tannins but clean and crisp acidity and a chalky mineral core with some oak, caramel and vanilla aspects too. Needs to harmonise a bit more. This should soften up nicely over ageing and be good for early drinking. Pénélope Godefroy now technical director across the Maison Dourthe portfolio. Ageing 12 months, 50% in barrels, no new oak.
