This delicious wine had me checking prices on my phone when it was revealed at our blind tasting. The classic Pomerol nose of figs, honey, chocolate, earth, and spice showed a bit of evolution, yet it remained surprisingly youthful, with a firm, silky texture, plenty of structure and grip, and an approachable, friendly style that should age well indeed. Although it is delightful to drink now, it will only improve with age and should easily withstand another 20 years or more in a good cellar.
