This is not part of Château Lascombes, but is owned and made by Lascombes' director, Dominique Befve. Smoked and grilled almond scents lead to a confident, controlled palate of plentiful black fruits, backing up the tannins and acidity. It's firm and ambitious, offering a little overly sweet damson once the mid-palate opens up, but is balanced impressively by the the sheer volume of different elements on display.
