Such a gorgeous nose; cinnamon, sweet spices, pink flowers, raspberries, red cherries and blackcurrants. Smooth and silky, the texture here is excellent, so mouthfilling but refined at the same time - a sense of precision and focus. The fruit is crunchy and balances well with the chewy tannins so you get lots of textural elements as well as bright acidity. A nicely complete wine delivering fruit intensity with a round and full body. Really very good quality with such a lifted, almost sweet bright finish still with a tangy mint and liquorice element. Excellent classicism. Drink now but can hold too.  Made by the Duboscq family who own Château Haut-Marbuzet where some of the declassified grapes destined for their Cru Bourgeois make it into this cuvée.  Unoaked blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
