Deeply coloured even at 13 years old, slight disconnect with the tertiary flavours, that are very much soft leather, rich garrigue and pepper notes, with scorched earth. Soft tannins but no question that they have left a trace from what must have been a tannic wine in its youth. Saffron and smoked toffee flavours, with a rush of brambled cassis and menthol on the finish. Got even better after 24 hours of opening. An unusual 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, and one that will stay with you. From a 3ha plot within the estate of Domaine Sarda-Malet in the Roussillon.
