Yves Duport makes wine in Bugey, a small region in the foothills of the Alps, north of the Rhône and west of Savoie. Although he'd always made sparkling wine, his UK importer, Provisions, asked if he could try making a pét-nat. After speaking with Burgundy producer and pét-nat expert Sextant, this pink pét-nat made from 100% Gamay was born. And it is utterly delicious. It tastes like watermelon, rhubarb and the crisp bite of red apple skin, and it's so moreish you need at least three bottles on hand. There are pops of sweet candied raspberry, yet it finishes dry and ultra-refreshing with a soft and fluffy mousse. I don't think there's anything else I'd rather drink on a warm day outside with friends.
