The quality of wine from Maison Albert Bichot continues to rise, as shown by this Santenay - an elegant wine from the cooler 2014 vintage. With a fragrant, precise texture of spiced berry fruit on the palate balanced by crisp acidity, this appealing Santenay is a great advert for the wines from the south of the Côte d'Ôr. With very subtle oak ageing and autumn leaf character, there is appealing maturation here. 2014 is not the richest of recent vintages but there is plenty of substance here, albeit in a less overt way.
