The Volnay Brouillards from Parigot is a surprisingly deep garnet hue, and notes of earth, mineral, and clove charmingly accent the ripe black plum fruit character. The texture is supple yet dense, and there is impressive persistence on the palate. The grapes come from the small part of Brouillards that is classed as village-level. The fruit is mostly destemmed and fermented with few punch-downs and gentle pumping over. The wines are ageing at present, primarily in used casks.
