Benjamin Leroux’s Clos Saint Denis opens up with a fresh, fruity nose of red cherry and crabapple before turning a bit more earthy, spicy and deep. This is a more muscular expression of the Morey Saint Denis Grand Cru with fine but firm tannins, though its fruit appeal is very much in the vein of 2011. A wine that is still youthful despite some tertiary flavours peeking though. It will benefit from several more years of cellaring before it starts to come into its own.
