As expected from this premium Mâconnais area, this is a fine Crémant with extra hints of stone fruit on the palate indicating this is from a more southerly region. Concentrated and complex on the palate, balanced by rapier-like acidity. Lovely purity all round – a crowd-pleasing Crémant which is less severe than many Champagnes and will have wide appeal. Vérizet was once the name of a village, but as it was merged with the neighbouring village of Viré in 1968, it no longer exists. This cooperative was founded in 1928 and currently has 150 members, supplied by 240ha of vineyards.
