Pale in colour yet profusely aromatic with aromas of green apple, fennel and linden flowers, along with a hint of spice from the oak. The palate has abundant mineral tension and a compact, focused feel that lingers interminably. The grapes are from a plateau at the summit of the hill above Béru and Chichée; despite the altitude, the site is warm with stony Kimmeridgian soils. This will be much more open in five years and should continue to improve for 20 years beyond that.
