There is a lovely purity to the ripe pear and mirabelle plum aromas of this wine, which expand and take off on the palate with the help of lively acidity and balanced extract. The wine drinks well now, but there is certainly the substance to hold for up to five years. The grapes are from two parcels, Sous le Château in Baubigny and Le Lie in Meloisey, totalling 1.20 hectares; they are lightly crushed and fermented in 456-litre casks for 10 months, with another 3-4 in tank.
