The domaine is fortunate enough to own almost one hectare in the higher part of this grand cru, which has persuaded Charles Lachaux to add a lieu-dit name on the label. The red-fruited nose is wonderfully elegant and pure if not very nuanced at present. The palate shows heft and weight, with robust tannins that counter the fleshiness of the fruit. It tightens on the finish, and fine acidity gives vigour and persistence.
