This charming white is perennially among my favourites from Belleville. In 2023, the 0.3ha delivered a Chardonnay more serious than many, with bright, lemony fruit, hints of acacia flowers and flinty mineral notes. The texture is bright despite the warm vintage, and the wine is elegantly balanced on the lingering finish. The vines are located on the border with Rully, with an east-northeast exposition that helps keep the wine lively. Should drink well young and seems well-adapted to at least mid-term ageing.
