The expressive, elegant mulberry fruit aromas with hints of earth and spice that echo on Changarnier’s Monthélie Meix Bataille lead into a texture that features impressive concentration and a clear tannic line through to a lingering finish that outperforms the vintage generally. The grapes are from 0.7ha in this well-situated premier cru. They are fermented as 20% whole bunches, and the wine is aged in 20% new barrels. This wine should open well with a few years in the bottle and drink over the next decade.
