The Clos Rousseau is one of Santenay’s most inherently elegant terroirs, but as the domaine’s vines here were only planted in 2013, the 2016 rendition only offers a foretaste of what is to come from this cuvée. Chevrot jokingly described this as a ‘petit vin d’apéro’. Notes of lemon, citrus pith and a subtle framing of oak introduce a fresh, open-knit but delicately balanced wine with modest concentration and grip.
