The flagship Clos des Épeneaux from Comte Armand boasts ripe blackberry and mulberry with an edge of bramble and a hint of earth. The texture has impressive structure and grip, leading to a long finish. Owner Paul Zinetti says that he kept the press wine separate to maintain purity. The result is elegant and sophisticated; it should drink well on release but will undoubtedly last a decade or more in the cellar.
