Fragrant and forward, the Combe Bazin from Chassorney offers aromas of lemon peel and greengage plum fruit with an edge of salty minerality. The texture is fresh and lively, yet there is enough flesh to achieve an admirable balance and a lovely, lingering elegance on the finish. Aurélien Verdet vinifies all his whites in concrete eggs to preserve the purity and freshness of the fruit. This wine is drinking well now, but will undoubtedly improve with mid-term cellaring.
