This dark-hued wine has an impressively forward mulberry fruit with mineral, leather, and smoke notes. The texture is tannic and structured but not forbidding. It is one of the rare Bourgogne rouges that can be drunk young but will continue to age and improve in the bottles. All the grapes are grown within the commune of Pommard. They are picked late for maximum ripeness (26 September in the 2021 vintage), fermented as whole clusters with vigorous punching down, and aged in mostly older oak casks.
