A superb example of its type. The generic Bourgogne from Bachelet is among my favourites of the vintage. It is assembled from two lieux dits (Grands Champs and Pressonier) located just across the Route Nationale from the grands crus. The wine is pure and ethereal, with a pronounced perfume of ripe cherries and blossoms. The texture on the palate is silky and fine, with a lovely, vibrant tension from the fresh acidity. An extraordinary find at this level.
