The new Nuits-St-Georges premier cru Les Cailles is an unerring rendition of a classic wine from Nuits, with somewhat restrained blackberry fruit and slightly rustic overtones of earth, animal, and leather. The wine is surprisingly full-bodied for the vintage, with firm, just slightly austere tannins. Eugenie is now farming one hectare of this vineyard, located next to Les Saint-Georges. In 2024, they produced only two barrels; the grapes were completely destemmed, and are being aged in cask (50% new).
