A powerful, concentrated wine with great cellaring potential. Already offering notes of ripe pear and citrus peel with hints of spice and smoke, it is still incredibly youthful and marked by the wood. Still, the sense of great promise is there with an impressive extract balanced by lively acidity that drives it to an impressive finish. The grapes are from nearly 1.5ha of south-facing vines, some of which are 100 years old; they are pressed as whole bunches and fermented on native yeasts in barrel (20% new).
