Burgundy lovers on a budget will take great satisfaction from learning that this Bourgogne Blanc comes from parcels that border Puligny Montrachet's premier cru vineyards. The small, family-run estate ferments the wine in a mix of stainless steel and oak (20% new), before ageing it on lees for 11 months. You won't find the complexity that you'll get from premier cru Puligny, but it's a darn sight cheaper! What you will find is an expressive, open wine with spicy, toasty aromas, lemon citrus and stone fruit, and a hint of butterscotch. Mix-six price: £20
