The name means ‘fog’, yet this wine is substantial, with a super-dark colour and pronounced, very rich blackberry and fig fruit aromas. The texture is powerful and tannic, with enough extract to ensure an impressively long finish. This wine is a bit of a ‘bodybuilder’ but beautiful nonetheless. The grapes are from 70-year-old vines on the border of Pommard; Boillot gave the wine 18 months in cask, more than they usually receive, and the results repay the extra effort.
