This is the only unoaked version of Grenouilles available from any of the landholders, and it makes a fascinating glass of wine. The warmer vintage and the gentleness of the site gives its aromas an almost spicy appeal combined with a jasmine-like floral finesse. The grand cru richness of flavour is very apparent in the mouth, but the wine pulls back from that aromatic exoticism and delivers all the unfruity, stony breadth you might wish for. Rare and fine.
