There are two parcels in Renardes that Etienne Delarche used to demonstrate how successful 2018 could be for those who avoid exaggeration in this torrid year. The vines yielded fairly deep colour yet a surprising purity of fruit, with nicely well-defined plummy aromas and a firm mineral undercurrent. The extraction was elegant, and the texture balanced. Nothing was overdone, and the flavours continued to a pleasantly lingering finish.
