An almost deceptively powerful wine. There are concentrated, super-ripe aromas of blackberry and fig and a hint of earthy complexity. The texture is dense and layered but not overly heavy. I tasted the wine without knowing the ABV (15%) and I confess I was surprised, because the wine still retained enough freshness to bring it into balance. The grapes were picked on 19 September and mostly destemmed before fermenting with a combination of punching down and pumping over; the wine is an assemblage of the domaines parcels throughout the climat.
