This deeply coloured Fixin is initially a bit closed, but with time, explosive mulberry and black-plum aromas develop on the nose and palate with hints of menthol, mineral and spice. The texture is dense and compact, with firm tannins and impressive tension, meriting a bit of time in bottle before opening. The grapes are from 0.2ha in Fixin Les Clos, which produce the smallest grapes; the team harvests in two passes to isolate the smallest, which are fermented entirely as whole clusters.
