The 2021 Grands Champs boasts lovely ripe mulberry fruit with a suggestion of liquorice and pepper on the initial attack. The texture is velvety and rich but balanced by the abundant acidity of 2021. As with Robardelle, the Grands Champs vines are planted perpendicular to the slope. Only a tiny portion of this lieu-dit is classed in premier cru, all of it owned by the Bouley family, whose vines here are seventy years of age.
