Robardelle is the northern continuation of Santenots-Dessous and down the slope from En Chevret and Caillerets. Despite its location at the base of the slope, the soils are very shallow. In 2022, they delivered a rich, dense wine with ripe blackberry fruit and hints of violets and liquorice. The tannins are supple but support the wine well, and a lovely plump texture carries the flavours to a long finish. The 0.40 hectares of ancient vines here gave just three barrels in 2022; none were new. The result is a deftly balanced wine of great complexity and finesse.
