This wine is immediately appealing, with its notes of black plums and spice and an undercurrent of dark chocolate. The tannins are supple, and a balance of density and freshness draws this wine to a lingering finish. The 2021 from this site was marvellous, and this has even more concentration. The grapes come from just over a half-hectare of old vines located directly down-slope from the village, just under the band of premier crus; they are destemmed and fermented on native yeasts before ageing in cask (20% new).
