The domaine never put this intriguing wine on the market - it was an experiment whose late harvest was 'almost the equivalent of an Amarone'. Laurent Ponsot proposed the project, but the entire team enjoyed the tasting. The grapes were picked from the end of October through November and aged almost five years in cask. The colour is dark, and the fruit is on the blackberry/plum/prune end of the spectrum. The structure is still very tannic and firm after more than 30 years, and almost unyielding on the palate - a surprising wine in every way.
