The vines in Belland’s 2.20 hectares in premier cru La Comme (which they label Santenay-Commes premier cru) average nearly fifty years of age. The 2021 vintage has a reasonably deep colour and a forward, floral blackberry fruit on the nose with a hint of earth. The texture is rich and relatively firm, with bright acidity and good length. The vines are reasonably high on the slope, making this a cooler terroir, and were destemmed in 2021, gently fermented with modest extraction, and the wine is being aged now in cask (30% new).
