Pataille's Fleur de Pinot is alluringly aromatic in 2024, with exotic notes of lychee and Asian five-spice powder. The wine is still maturing, with a light pink, cloudy appearance, but this will doubtless evolve into a memorable vintage of a special wine. The grapes are from venerable vines planted between 1934 and 1954, mainly in the alluvial soils where a river formerly flowed out of the Combe du Pré. A small amount of Pinot Gris is blended with the Pinot Noir; half is pressed directly and the rest is macerated to extract colour.
