This wine is strikingly like a Coteaux Champenois made from Meunier, with pronounced floral notes, a bright, fresh red fruit character, and a moderately intense colour. Delicious if distinctly different for the category. The wine begins with 90-year-old Pinot Beurrot from En Blungey near the base of the slope in Couchey (south of Marsannay village), blended with grapes from venerable Pinot vines in Champ Forey and Charme aux Prêtres in Marsannay. Half is direct to press, and half is macerated on the skins for approximately three days. It will see extended ageing in used casks.
