A push-the-boat-out wine, this premier cru Pouilly-Fuissé is made by the fourth-generation winemaker of a family-owned estate. The grapes are drawn from vines aged between 40 and 50 years old, planted in six communes surrounding the estate. The wine is fermented in a mix of vats, tuns and Burgundian oak barrels, and aged in barrel on lees for a year before a further six months in stainless steel. The result is an elegant and complex Chardonnay, toasty and expansive, with welcoming acidity, good depth of white flowers, lemon and white peach flavour, and vanilla spice from the deft oak ageing. Mix six price £42
