On the palate blackcurrant, black cherry, hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and marzipan all collide to form a sumptuously-textured, characterful wine. This has a smooth but rich texture with velvety ripe tannins and gentle wood spice edges alongside perfumed cherry and violet touches. There is a wonderful depth of flavour but with absolute purity. It feels seductive, drawing you in and keeping you there with a taste that lingers on the tongue. A wine that will age for a long time so worth keeping in the cellar to enjoy in a few years. Bottled in December 2019. Grapes come from the same vineyard as the Corton-Charlemagne - half the vineyard planted with Chardonnay and half Pinot Noir.
