This 15-hectare domaine is based in Meursault, but Boillot is adept at making red wines too. This Volnay is a blend of 5 premiers crus, and after ageing in 25 percent new oak, it is bottled without fining or filtration. It's vividly aromatic, with ripe and juicy raspberry aromas, and all the Volnay finesse one would hope for. Medium-bodied, it's sleek, polished, and concentrated, with supple tannins, good depth and weight, and a delicate touch on the long finish.
