The Hospices is a significant owner of vines in several Corton climats. This wine is their largest cuvée, assembled from Bressandes (one-third) and Renardes (two-thirds), both exposed to east/southeast. The maturation of this bottling was done by the Hospices themselves in new casks. More than a decade after the vintage, the oak was fully absorbed and the wine at a perfect spot, still showing some primary plum and cherry fruit with accents of spice, smoke, and a firm, earthy minerality. The texture was very structured yet not at all imposing.
