The is the Cuvée Classique: two-thirds Monts Luisants and one-third Fremières, 0.80ha in total. 30% whole cluster and 30% new wood produce a wine that astonishes with its immense, dark plummy fruit, a mineral, slightly menthol edge and savoury, smoky hints that develop with time. The texture is densely tannic, yet enlivened by a lovely freshness. A superb Clos de la Roche.
