The Echezeaux, from the domaine’s vines in the excellent climat of Les Rouges du Bas, is normally a standout in the Jadot range, and 2016 does not disappoint despite the heavy frost experienced here. Notes of wood smoke, ripe cherry, rich soil and grilled game bird are followed by a full-bodied, expansive wine with elegant tannins, impressive breadth and good balancing acidity. This is quite giving in personality this year.
