Once again, this precocious site was the first to be picked, and the lush, ripe fruit has delivered a silky forward blackberry aroma with an edge of rose petals and spice. The texture is velvety and soft, with a very approachable feel and a mouth-filling density that augurs well for ageing. The grapes were destemmed and gently fermented, and the wine is now ageing in cask (one-third new), where it will stay until next spring. This wine should be approachable relatively early and age for a decade or more.
