The 2.76ha Monopole of Clos de La Fortune is undoubtedly one of Bouzeron's top sites, with vines planted in 1963 on a steep, south-facing slope. Barrel-fermented in 228 lire and 500 litre barrels, with 12 months ageing in wood prior to a further elevage in steel for five months before bottling. Balancing lifted floral notes on the nose, freshness on the palate with richer, riper notes of peach and crisp green apple on the palate, this is a fine Bouzeron which has the stuffing to improve and age well for several years.
