Produced from a selection of the oldest vines in the Monopole of Clos de La Fortune, volumes here are tiny (in 2020 just 854 bottles were produced). The vieilles vignes give the wine even more concentration than the 'standard' Monopole bottling, with extended barrel ageing (16 months) adding richness to the stone-fruit driven palate, cut with vibrant acidity and a chalky, mineral texture on the finish. Intense, waxy notes, sappy and spicy yet with a hint of saltiness adding to the freshness on the aftertaste. This needs 2-3 years but has a decades life ahead.
