The bright cherry and pomegranate fruit with a hint of violets and spice is seductively forward, if less rich than the wines from the Côte Chalonnaise. The texture is very fresh and crisp with slightly firm tannins on the end. The grapes are from one domaine-owned hectare in Santenay-le-Haut, near Château de la Crée, in iron-rich soils; they are destemmed and gently fermented before ageing in barrel.
