The Pacalet treatment has a fine success here, with rich, black plum fruit alongside notes of anise, pepper and liquorice. The wine is fermented mostly as whole-cluster, but there is a well-managed quality to the tannins and nothing rustic at all. The texture is substantial, forcefully tannic and long on the finish. This comes from a parcel of 0.5ha located in the Clos St. Denis.
