This is the sort of Champagne that if it weren't sparkling it would still be a joyous, delicious thing to drink – which is not always the case with Champagne! It's a golden-orange in colour and fairly red-fruited in character, conjuring images of wild berries and wild hedgerow flowers, moving through subtly oxidative notes of blanched almonds and walnut skin into touches of dried apricot and candied orange peel. Fine, expressive, personal and real.
