Montgueux, in the Cotes des Bars, is the most southern of the crus here, with limestone soils as found in nearby Chablis. The wines here are early ripening, producing full-bodied roundness reminiscent of the Chardonnays from the Cote d`’Or. 

This is pale gold with a touch of silver. It’s quite open and generous on the nose and palate, clear and clean but lacking the depth of the more northern crus, with firm tension on the finish.
