From the hot, dry 2022 vintage, this is a white Coteaux that offers a little more breadth and substance than some. There’s a touch of white peach juiciness to offset the serious, chalky undertow, tangy preserved citrus and spicy, lightly structured oak framing. It’s a truly Champenois picture of Chardonnay from the large, chalky single vineyard in Ludes entirely worked by Juliette Alips. The Champagnes are not available yet, but the Coteaux offers a glimpse of what may be to come.
