Pouring a mid-gold in colour, Gosset's 2016 vintage emerges nicely aligned and full of easy charm, with juicy stone fruit and citrus Chardonnay – Mirabelle plums and clementines – very true to the sunny side of the year. Beneath this, the Pinot plays on delicacy and fragrance with red apple and raspberry, touched by an appealing dried chamomile side. There's a lick of fruit-skin grip here, but little in the way of tension or challenging acidity given Gosset's belief in blocking malolactic fermentation; it's svelte and flowing, but open for business.
